Three good Questions:

How do I get a Computer?

How do I set it up?

And, how do I learn to use it?

Step 1:  Go to TechCharities

A (nearly) free computer is available from TechCharities for those who qualify.

  • All individuals and families who are in need qualify for a computer grant
  • Contact the agency that you work with (such as Catholic Community Services, Work Force Services, BYU Pathway..) and request their endorsement. Or, just come to our office.
  • Visit our office located at 50 North 600 West, Suite C in Salt Lake City
  • Office hours are Mondays from 10:00 am to noon and by appointment

Step 2: Learn how to set up your computer

Here are a couple of suggestions:

  • Request technical support from friends or neighbors
  • Contact the agency that you work with and ask if they provide classes or mentors.
  • Look on line for support.  For example, YouTube or  go to www.GCFlearnfree.org
  • Or review the questions on Computercampus.org

Step 3: Learn how to use your computer for
basic life skills and employment

Here are a couple of suggestions for training and support:

1.  Send an email:  help@TechCharities.org
2.  Text:  385-455-9747, or
3.  Attend  Zoom Class:  Register below
  • Note: The registration fee of $10 is waved for those who received a computer from TechCharities.
  • The class is offered Wednesday evenings from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
